Martin Harris is an important figure in the history and heritage of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as LDS or Mormon). Martin Harris was one of the three witnesses of the Book of Mormon, meaning he swore to seeing the gold plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated. In 1874, Martin Harris came to Clarkston, Utah, and passed away a year later.
His grave is located in the Clarkston Cemetery, and attracts hundreds of visitors each year. Clarkston previously hosted a yearly pageant called “The Man Who Knew” in Harris’ memory, but was discontinued in 2019.
